He has a PhD in Medicine, a Master’s Degree in Health Services Management and a Diploma in Hospital Management. He was an executive at the Catalan Health Institute and the Catalan Health Service (1984-1994), contributing during this period to the creation of the Catalan Health Model.

From 1997 to 2000 he held the position of Government Secretary and Responsible for Relations with the Parliament of Catalonia. During this period, one of his goals was to work on the creation of a modern Administration that was different from the current model. He has worked as a consultant for governments and private companies from the health sector in diverse countries in Europe, America and Africa.

He was a professor at the EADA and ESADE business schools and at UOC and an associate professor at Montreal University in Switzerland and in Italy. He is currently a member of several boards of management in the area of development of consultancy and coaching services.

was a member of the Advisory Council for Sustainability and Progress of the Governing Board of Mar de Barcelona Medical Centre.
